Yanchep is within the City of Wanneroo, which is Western Australia’s fastest growing local government authority, spanning both urban and regional areas.
The population of more than 134,000 is forecast to grow to more than 161,000 by the year 2011.
The major growth areas will be along the coast, where the population will increase from approximately 32,000 to over 190,000.
The city services an area of 685sq km, which includes bushland, wetlands, urban and rural areas as well as 32km of pristine coastline.
Each year the city provides between 30-40 per cent of the total housing lots created in the Perth metropolitan area, resulting in the construction of more than 2,000 homes per annum.
